The University of Kragujevac (Serbian Универзитет у Крагујевцу / Univerzitet u Kragujevcu ) is a Serbian university in the city of Kragujevac. It was founded in 1976 and is divided into 11 faculties.

History

The University of Kragujevac was opened on 21 May 1976. This was the same date on which Miloš Obrenović in 1838 established the first university in Serbia.

The University of Kragujevac was necessary to promote a scientific environment for aspiring academics in the region and support. At the opening of the university had five faculties:

  • Engineering faculty
  • Faculty of Economics
  • Faculty of Law
  • Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
  • Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Today the University of Kragujevac is a modern educational and research center, and includes all major areas of teaching and research. At present, the university consists of 11 faculties. These are located in five different cities in the central region of Serbia, which has an area to live on more than 2.5 million people, covers.

14,000 students have completed their studies at the university, 300 have completed their master degree course and 600 have PhDs.

Faculties

The University of Kragujevac consists of eleven faculties. Six of them are located in Kragujevac, the other five in four neighboring localities:
