The University of Málaga (Spanish: Universidad de Málaga; Latin: Universitas Malacitana ) is a state university in Málaga (Andalusia ), with approximately 40,000 students and 2,000 academic staff ( 2001).

The University of Málaga was founded on local initiative in 1968 and went on 18 August 1972 in operation. The university is organized today in a Business and Economics and a Faculty of Medicine and also operates research, together with the Technology Park of Andalusia.

Rector of the University of Malaga is Prof. Adelaida de la Calle Martín.
