The University of Novi Pazar or International University of Novi Pazar (Serbian: Универзитет у Новом Пазару / Univerzitet u Novom Pazaru ) is a university in Novi Pazar, Serbia. It was founded in 2002 and today is divided into five faculties.

History

The University of Novi Pazar was founded in 2002 on the initiative of the then Prime Minister of Serbia, Zoran Djindjic. In addition to the Republic of Serbia is also involved in yet another 200 -makers. The university was organized as a Waqf Foundation, modeled on universities in Islamic countries so that it is neither state nor private and as such is currently the only in Southeastern Europe. The University of Novi Pazar was the first university of Serbia, which accepted the Bologna Declaration.
