University of the East

The University of the East (UE ), (Filipino: Pamantasan ng Silangan, Lungsod ng Maynila ) is a private university in the Philippines. It is regarded as an important educational institution in the Philippines and in the administrative regions of Metro Manila.

Locations

She has three locations in the Greater Region Metro Manila:

  • The main campus of the University is at the Claro M. Recto Avenue in Barangay Sampaloc, Manila

Faculties

The University of the East is home to various faculties, these are divided into high school and technical college areas, as well as vocational training institutes and colleges. These are the Graduate School, College of Law, College of Dentistry, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business Administration, College of Computer Studies and Systems, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Fine Arts, Architecture and Design and the College of Department of Physical Education.

History

The precursor of the university was established in 1946 when 110 students enrolled in the group under the leadership of Dr. Francisco T. Dalupan Sr. to train to become a Certified Public Accountant. The following year, the present main campus at the Claro M. Recto Avenue could be obtained. On July 3, 1951 and Education Institute of the university status was awarded. This enabled the colleges Law, Medicine and Engineering and the Graduate School of Education to open by summer 1954. In the 1960 decade, satellite campuses were set up in Caloocan and Quezon. Beginning of 1970, the University played a significant role in the student movement of the First Quarter Storm. The University reached in the 1975-1976 semester with 67 443 students, the highest number of students enrolled. At the beginning of the 1980s decade began with the global economic crisis and a decline in enrollments. The University where she met the the Institute for Computer Studies and Systems 1987 created, now the College of Computer Studies and Systems. Today, three colleges of the University have the Level II status, awarded by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation ( PACUCOA ). These are the Colleges of Arts and Sciences - Manila, College of Business Administration - Manila and the College of Dentistry.
