The University of the Pacific (also called UOP or Pacific ) is a private university in Stockton in the U.S. state of California. The main campus is located in Stockton, with locations in San Francisco and Sacramento. Currently, 6,196 students are enrolled, of which 4,615 in Stockton.

History

The University of the Pacific was founded on July 10, 1851 in Santa Clara under the name California Wesleyan College. 1871 moved the college to San Jose around, and women were admitted to the program. 1911, the name was changed to College of the Pacific (COP ). In 1925 she moved to Stockton in 1961 and received its current name. 1962 merged the UOP with the San Francisco College of Physicians and Surgeons and in 1966 with the McGeorge School of Law.
