The University of Tuzla is a state institution in the Bosnian town of Tuzla. The foundation dates back to a technical school for mining (1958), this was 1960, the University of Sarajevo affiliated and their first external faculty. Over the following years, more faculties were established in 1976 and affiliated with the institution independently and as a University of Tuzla.

The University is a member of the network of Balkan Universities ( Albania, Bosnia - Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey).

The university consists of 11 faculties and 3 academies, to which are study programs for Bachelor's and Master's degrees offered in accordance with the Bologna rules.
