University of West Alabama
The University of West Alabama ( UWA also called ) is a state university in Livingston in the U.S. state of Alabama. Currently here are enrolled 2,300 students.
History
The University of North Alabama was founded in 1835 as Livingston Female Academy and State Normal College, one belonging to the church college for women. In 1907 men were admitted. After several name changes, the university received its present name in 1995.
Students
Of the 2,300 students in the fall semester of 2006 were 55 % women and 45 % men.

- 1% foreigners
Sports
The sports teams of the University of West Alabama, the Tigers. The university is a member of the Gulf South Conference ( Eastern Division ).
