University of West Georgia

(Also called UWG or West Georgia ) The University of West Georgia is a state university located in Carrollton in the U.S. state of Georgia, about 80 km west of Atlanta. It is part of the University System of Georgia. The college was established in 1906. Currently here are enrolled 10,200 students.

She has the only Honors College in Georgia.

History

The University of West Georgia was established in 1906 as the Fourth District Agricultural and Mechanical School. In 1933 she was renamed West Georgia College. In 1971, the number of students increased to 6,000.

Sports

The sports teams of Georgia West are the Wolves. The university is a member of the Gulf South Conference ( Eastern Division ).
