The Unna station is the main passenger station of the Westphalian county town of Unna. Other railway stations within the city limits that are regularly served by passenger traffic are: Unna- Königsborn, Unna West, masses, and Lünern Hemmerde.

History

The station was built in 1855 on the railroad Dortmund- Soest Bergisch- Märkischen Railway Company ( BME) and equipped with a representative station building.

1866, the BME has built a range of Unna from Hamm to the root path of the Cologne -Minden Railway Company, which was later continued to railway Hagen Hamm, whereby the Unna station became an interchange of regional significance.

The Prussian state railways then built a railway from Fröndenberg to Kamen for connection between the three east-west routes in the area. The southern part was opened in 1899 and is now bound by the railway to Neuenrade Hönnetal. The northern part was first released in 1900 for freight and a year later for passenger service, this route is now operating only until Unna- Königsborn, from the S-Bahn line 4 of the S- Bahn Rhein -Ruhr.

Between 1909 and 1950, also joined the small railway Unna- Kamen - Unna Werne the station by Kamen station.
