She turned from the rock opera style of the predecessor and the simple and reduced instrumentalization of the first Green Day albums. Content, too, the songs are apolitical and socially less critical than with American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. Criticism and Awards

Uno got mixed reviews. Laut.de awarded just two out of five stars and wrote:

"Rather than disillusioned intoxicated their ears away from the headset. So be it: All good things are three well known. Remains to be seen how the guys on the following two works " Dos! " and " Tré! " beat as a garage - punk and epic rockers. It can only be exciting. "

For Plattentests.de Uno is getting seven out of ten, " pleasantly unspectacular ":

" Green Day have clearly withdrawn, the " m " deleted without replacement from the Pomppunk the last two albums and poured the socially critical attitude in less unequivocal statements. Narrow- tailed heartbreak and stretched in the air fists usually make the semi- distorted - shirt-sleeved charm of " Warning" space. Small melodies instead of grand gestures are trumps. Sing along goes without lighter in his hand. And the Bassfills redound " Basket case " honor. "

The Rolling Stone called Uno a relief from the severity of the predecessors and gives four out of five stars:

"After the Quadrophenia -like weight and worry of 2004 's American Idiot and 2009 's 21st Century Breakdown, ¡ Uno! feels like plain relief. There are strong whiffs of Green Day's biggest seller, 1994 's Dookie, in the honed buzz of Armstrong 's and Jason White's guitars, Dirnt and Cool 's airtight gallop, and Armstrong's lyric emphasis on girl troubles and starting the party that never stops. There is therefore a hipper, richer grip in the details. "
