UNSPSC

The UNSPSC (United Nations Standard Products and Services Code ) is an internationally employed classification system of commodity economy.

The UNSPSC system is used in e-procurement, particularly in the Americas, for enterprise -wide classification of goods and services of all kinds.

Formation and organization

The UNSPSC system was created in 1998 through a collaboration between the United Nations Development Programme ( UNDP) and the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation ( D & B).

Components

A UNSPSC Code consists of five levels, of which the first four are standardized. Each level is encoded by a two-digit number, so that the notation 8 - or 10-digit code. These levels are named as follows (example based on ):
