Untash-Napirisha

Untaš - Napiriša was a king of Elam, who reigned approximately 1275-1240 BC. He was the son of Humban - numena I, its predecessor, and his wife, whose name is not known, however, was a daughter of the king of Babylon Kurigalzu I.. One or even the principal wife of Untaš - Napiriša named Napir - Asu with an almost life-size bronze statue, which was found in Susa, known. She was possibly the daughter of the Babylonian king Burna - Burias II. This bronze image work is now considered one of the masterpieces of Elamite art.

Untaš - Napiriša renovated many temples in Elam, including 20 alone in the ancient capital of Susa. These include the Temple of Pinikir, in which he also donated a golden statue of Pinikir, and the Temple of Inšušinak, where he developed the ziggurat.

However, his most important act was the foundation of the new capital city Dur - Untaš, today Chogha Zanbil. Here the ruler appears to have been buried, or at least found themselves in a palace of the city subterranean crypts that could have been very well intended for the ruler and his family.
