Unterweid
Unterweid is a municipality in the district Schmalkalden- Meiningen in Thuringia. It belongs to the administrative community Hohe Rhön, which has its headquarters in the town of Kaltensundheim.
Location
Unterweid is a village in the Thuringian Rhön. It lies on the main road in 1124 with a connection to the main road 276 to Hilders and is located in Weidtal.
History
On June 9, 915, the village was first documented genannt.Der place belonged to the Official Kaltennordheim the county Henneberg, later of Saxe -Weimar- Eisenach ( Eisenach Oberland).
Unterweid 1624 was affected by witch hunts: Margaretha Klein Peter got into a witch trial and was burned ..
