Unua Libro

Unua Libro (literally Erstbuch ) is the first book written in Esperanto. The language was designed as " Lingvo internacia " ( international language ). The book was published on July 26 in 1887 and again in 1888 in Russian, 1889 in Hebrew and then in Polish, French, German and English.

The book contained the Lord's Prayer, some more verses of the Bible, a sample letter as well as the " 16 rules" and 900 root words of Esperanto dictionary.
