Unum

UnumProvident ( abbreviated as Unum or UNM ) is an insurance company from the United States, headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The company is listed on the stock index S & P 500 under the symbol " UNM ".

The company was formed from the merger of the previously competing insurance company Unum of Portland, Maine and Provident of Chattanooga.

Among the products of UnumProvident include insurance of various kinds, especially life insurance. In January 2007, the Company announced the future to select the company name Unum.
