Unzenberg

Unzenberg is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geography

Unzenberg lies in the Hunsrück in Kauerbachtal.

The municipality consists of the villages Unzenberg, Göbenhausen and Tombach.

History

The town originated from the settlements Göbenhausen (7 yards ), Tombach (3 yards ) and Unzenberg (9 yards ). The first mention is found in the gradient index of Count Simon II of Sponheim in 1310.

With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Early 20th century by the building of the railway station located outside the town.

After the First World War temporarily again occupied by the French, the place is since 1946 part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Wind energy

On a hill east of the community of the wind farm Unzenberg is currently with five wind turbines manufacturer Vestas and two turbines from REpower Systems.
