UP Aerospace

UP Aerospace, Inc. is a U.S. based space technology company based in Denver, Colorado.

The company builds and starts sounding rockets and payloads transported for relatively low cost suborbital into space. Customers are the military, schools, universities or the funeral company Celestis. Company president is Jerry Larson, the executive director is Eric Knight. The company has annual sales of four million dollars.

So far, the company manufactures two types of rockets: SPACELOFT and SPACELOFT XL. This will be started on the newly built Spaceport Spaceport America in New Mexico.

The first launch took place on 25 September 2006, but was a failure. As payload was a science experiment at the University of Colorado Boulder and a private payload on board. The first successful flight took place on 28 April 2007, in which, among other things, the ashes of actor James Doohan was on board. Doohan is best known for his role as " Scotty" in the U.S. television series "Star Trek ". At the start of SL- 7, a height record for the Spaceport America was set at 119 km.
