UP Langreo

The Unión Popular de Langreo is a Spanish football club from the Asturian city Langreo. The club founded in 1961, plays in the 2007/ 08 season in the Tercera División, Group II

History

UP Langreo was in 1961 by the merger of the two clubs Racing Club de Sama and Círculo Popular de La Felguera. After the first season succeeded the newly founded club, the first time for the Segunda División, Spain's second league to qualify. Already 1967/68 the club had in the Tercera División, which was still mediocre at this time, descend. After two years, succeeded in 1970 to return to the Table 2, in which one lasted only two more years.

UP Langreo never managed to gain a foothold in the Spanish professional football. Meanwhile Langreo plays in the Tercera División, the fourth Spanish league. Stadium

UP Langreo plays at the Estadio Ganzábal, which has a capacity of 4,000 spectators. The stadium was inaugurated in 2006 by a new building and is owned by the city.
