Upholland is a civil parish in West Lancashire District of the British county of Lancashire. It is located about 5 kilometers east of Skelmersdale and 7 kilometers west of Wigan. By the name, the municipality differentiated from the 15 km westerly Downholland; both places were to 1534 in the possession of the Holland family.
