Uplawmoor

Uplawmoor is a small village in the Scottish unitary authority in the south of East Renfrewshire. It is located about every 16 kilometers south-west of Glasgow and north of Kilmarnock on the shores of Loch Libo. 2001 were counted in Clarkston 595 inhabitants. This means only marginal changes compared with the population of 574 in 1971 With the mansion Caldwell House is a building of the highest Scottish monument category A in Clarkston. In the vicinity of Uplawmoor mining companies were active in the past.

Traffic

The village is connected via the A736 that links Irvine on Barrhead with the M8 and A8 in Glasgow at the Straßennentz. The M77 motorway passes Uplawmoor a few kilometers to the east. Already in the 19th century Uplawmoor was connected through its own railway station on the railway network. The route went from Glasgow to Kilmarnock. The station was abandoned in the meantime.
