Upper Aulaqi Sultanate

The Upper Aulaqi Sultanate (Arabic سلطنة العوالق العليا, DMG saltanat al - ʿ Awāliq al - ʿ Ulyā ) was from 1963 a state within the South Arabian Federation, after it had briefly heard of 1959 the Federation of Arab Emirates of the South. Its capital was Nisab ( nisab, also ANSAB ).

The upper Sultanate was the wealthiest and most powerful state - Aulaqi; its ruler was like the further southeast, resided in Yeschbum Sheikh ( see Upper Aulaqi - Scheichtum ) always the Ma ʿ n- root. 1904 concluded Sultan Awad ibn Salih ( ʿ Awad Salih b. ) A treaty with the British from; 1967 went to the Sultanate in the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen. Its territory is now part of the Republic of Yemen.
