Upper Carniola Statistical Region

Carniola (Slovenian: Gorenjska statistična regija ) (German: Upper Carniola) is a statistical region in Slovenia on NUTS3 level.

The region, which is intended for statistical purposes, was introduced in May 2005. It comprises a total of 18 municipalities. The largest city is Kranj. In the 2137 km ² large region of 203,000 people ( 2012).
