Uppsala Basket

Uppsala Basket is a Swedish basketball club from Uppsala.

History

The club was founded in 1960 as a YMCA Uppsala Basket. From 1989 to 1992 the club was called Arapt Basket.

The club took off the 1992/93 season through to the highest Swedish basketball league, the Svenska basket ligan in part, without ever descend from this. Before we went into the first season, was changed again as the club name in Mazda basketball. Under this name, the club reached in the premiere season of league equal to the semifinals of the playoffs the year after it failed in the play-offs.

For the 1994/95 season, the club was called again different. As Fyrishov Gators one came in the first season, not in the play-offs, in the second we reached the semi-finals and in the third season the quarterfinals. From the 1997/98 season came the next change of name. Sallen Basket was named the club now and thus named after the main sponsor Salléns Electronic. Under this name, the team was never in nine years on the play- off quarter -finals.

For the season 2007/ 08, the main sponsor jumped off and took the club back to its original name. Only the abbreviation YMCA let you off. As Uppsala Basket followed again in 2009 to participate in the semi-final, which went narrowly lost against Solna Vikings. The following year, the team managed again to the semifinals and again could not win, Plannja Basket was too strong. 2011 and 2012 are different from each in the quarterfinals.

Uppsala Basket is mainly because of the basket ligan permanent affiliation, seventh in the table of the eternal Svenska.
