Uppvidinge Municipality
Uppvidinge is a municipality (Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Blekinge County, the historical province of Småland. The main town of the municipality is Åseda.
History
In 1971 the congregation was formed by merging the borough Åseda and Lenhovda with the villages Nottebäck and Älghult. The name comes from the Harde Uppvidinge ( Uppvidinge Härad ) whose territory largely coincides with that of the community.
When asked which city should be the capital, there were several alternatives. Finally Åseda was determined, but there is the social administration in Lenhovda.
