Urisk

The Urisk is according to Scottish lore, a hybrid of goat and man, but not a satyr. He lives in springs, lakes, ponds and waterfalls in the Scottish Highlands. He is described as a very lonely creature that yearns for human companionship. His haunting look to scare people.

Behavior

Like many other nature spirits, he is generally very helpful and worked at night in the fields of good people, but he also follows people in lonely places.

Origin

The term Urisk is an anglicized form of the Scottish Gaelic word ùruisg. Each source in Breadalbane had a Urisk and the King of Urisken was Peallaidh in Aberfeldy. He is related to the Fuath.
