Þuríður Backman

Thuridur Backman ( transcribed Thuridur Backman, born January 8, 1948 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic politician ( Left-Green Movement).

From 1999 to 2013, it was members of the Icelandic parliament Althingi, first for the Eastern constituency since 2003 for the North Eastern constituency. She was 1999-2007 Vice- Chairman of the Parliament clubs of the Left-Green Movement, and was since 2003 Vice Speaker of the Parliament. She was a member of the Committee on the Budget and Vice- Chairman of the Committee on Health and director of the Icelandic delegation to the Interparliamentary Union.
