Urkers dialect

Urkers is a Lower Saxon dialect, which is spoken in the village of Urk in the north of the province of Flevoland. It forms a transition from the Lower Saxony to the Low Franconian dialects, including the standard Dutch belongs. Therefore, it differs in many respects from the North German Low Saxon, or Low German.
