Urmersbach
Urmersbach is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Emperor Esch.

Geography
Urmersbach is located in the Eifel region. The municipality also includes the residential courses in Upper Mill and Schuwerackerhof.
History
First mentioned in a document of the place is in 1253rd
By the end of the 18th century Urmersbach country belonged to the Electorate of Trier gorgeous and the Office Kaisersesch was assigned.
In 1794, French revolutionary troops had the left bank of the Rhine was annexed, from 1798 to 1814 belonged to the canton Urmersbach Kaisersesch in the arrondissement of Koblenz in the Rhine -Moselle department. The municipal council ( Urmersbacher community representatives in the Mairie Emperor Esch) was 1808, the citizens Schmidt.
Due to the decisions on the Congress of Vienna ( 1815), the region was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Under the Prussian administration Urmersbach the community came to the mayor's Emperor Esch district Cochem, who belonged to the Rhine Province to the new Region of Koblenz and from 1822 on.
Since 1946, the community Urmersbach is part of Rhineland- Palatinate, since 1968 it belongs to the municipality Emperor Esch and since 1969 the district Cochem- Zell.
The oldest number is from the year 1612, where 11 incolae, so families are called, which roughly corresponds to a level of 70 inhabitants. 1787 was one of the place 233 inhabitants. At the end of 1999, lived in Urmersbach in 229 families 510 people, including 261 female and 249 male.
1787, the district size with 361 ha and 1789 indicated 623 Morning "country". 1925 called 433 ha, and today the district is 434 hectares in size.

Parish council
The local council in Urmersbach consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 in a personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The eight seats on the council are divided into two groups of voters.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms description reads: " The shield in silver, on a red St. Andrew's cross, topped with two golden ears ".
The crossed in the local coat of arms ears point to agriculture and the miller's trade, both of which constitute the livelihood of the villagers for centuries.

Parish Church of St. Andrew
The history of the parish church of " St. Andreas " goes back to a mention in a Weistum of 1574th The Chapel of St. Andrew is the patron here in the delimitation of the " called Polcher wood " for the first time.
In 1613 we find the first mention of the chapel. 1784, the chapel is described as divided into documents. In 1787 the chapel was built by the Lamberti niche seminar with the help of the faithful again. 1791 the reconstruction was completed with the solemn consecration. A relic of this time is the gallery with an old oak beams back. On this following sentence is inscribed: " ANNO 1792 MAN HAS READ ME MAKE HER SOLET GOD LOOK. YOUR LIGET ON ME AND HOW BEHREN ERKENET NOT EVEN GOD THE MEN. I AM A Lene. LOBET GOD I READ CALIBRATION FALLING INTO THE LIGHT ".
In 1954 the chapel was enlarged by the architect Böhr from Mayen in its present form and renovated.
Events
Every year the Village Fair on the first weekend in September. Organised by the four associations of the fair society event will be held on Saturday and Sunday in the marquee at the community center.
Every year on the last Sunday in July, the St. Hubert Protect Brotherhood Urmersbach 1928 eV celebrates their traditional Marksmen with Hubertusmesse and large pageant.
Also in September each year hosts the nationally known traditional bachelor party.
