Urschmitt

Urschmitt is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality elms.

Geography

Urschmitt located eight kilometers southwest of the town of Cochem and four kilometers north- west of the Moselle River. The village extends on a relatively flat terrain east of the hill Blinzberg (430 m above sea level. NN ). History

The first mention was in 980 - at that time still under the name Ursmadia. The state rule Kurtriers ended with the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine 1794/96 by French revolutionary troops. 1815 it to the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Attractions
