Ursula Andress
Ursula Andress ( born March 19, 1936 in Ostermundigen, Canton of Bern ) is a Swiss actress, who was the first Bond Girl in the 1962 released movie James Bond Dr. No fame, and then launched an international career. It was in 1964 awarded the Golden Globe.
Early years
Ursula Andress was the daughter of the German Rolf Andress and a Swiss. It keeps the rumor that her father had been consul in Berne and been expelled for political reasons from Switzerland. Thereupon did the grandfather of a nursery operation near Ostermundigen to Ursula and her five siblings care ( other sources state that between four and six). Her childhood she described in retrospect as " incredibly unique, almost like in the 17th century." The hard work in the family business of strict grandfather taught her respect and discipline: "It gave me the strength to ask me all the hurdles in life ."
Andress attended a girls' school, which she left at the age of 16 years in Bern. Later she went to Paris, where she took classes in dance, drawing and sculpture. In Rome, she worked as a model for painters and photographers. Here she acquired extensive language skills. She was a close friend of James Dean. She remembers the September 30, 1955, the day on which Dean crashed: " Every morning at seven clock he picked me up at home. Jimmy said, ' Come, let us go together to San Francisco '. At this moment the actor and director John Derek had come. James saw John and knew immediately that I loved John. He said, 'Okay, John, let's take a drive' and raced with John through the residential area to have a conversation among men. When he returned, he said to me, ' I know that do not you come with me ' And then he walked away.. I think that was his fate. " Andress and Derek were married in 1957, 1966 was followed by a divorce.
Career
Marlon Brando is said to have advised her to begin a career as an actress. Ursula Andress in 1955 got her first film role in Casanova - his love and adventure.
Her breakthrough achieved in 1962 as the first Bond girl of the James Bond film series James Bond in Dr. No in the female lead role of Muscheltaucherin Honey Ryder. The scene in which she ( known as Dr. No- Bikini) rises from the sea in a white belted bikini, was legendary. With their athletic, body-hugging representation they continued to influence the role of assertive beautiful woman. She received the 1964 Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actress. In 1967, she was in the movie Casino Royale again as Bond girl in front of the camera, the strip does not count as the official James Bond film series. Andress was chosen by numerous magazines as the "Best Bond girl of all time ," among others in 2006 by Empire magazine and in 2008 by Entertainment Weekly.
Ursula Andress used its image as a seductive Venus and worked in appropriate roles, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s in many international productions. Because of the accumulation of film roles in skimpy costumes she was ridiculed by critics as " Ursula Undressed ".
In 1981, she starred in Clash of the Titans in one of her last major box office hits. Then Andress was mainly for television productions before the camera.
Personal
In 1965 she appeared in the June issue of Playboy. The photos included in it were from her husband. After her separation from Derek she had an eight-year relationship with the French actor Jean -Paul Belmondo, with whom she inter alia, the film turned the great adventures of Monsieur L. (1965). At the age of 44 years she gave birth to her son in 1980 Dimitri Alexander, whose father is the actor Harry Hamlin.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the Swiss Consulate General in Scotland on 18 May 2006 Ursula Andress celebrated her 70th birthday on board the Britannia in Edinburgh. She was driven in the Aston Martin DB5, with her co-star Sean Connery wrote in the James Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball film history to the royal yacht. The car belongs since 2006 to a Swiss collector.
