Urville (Aube)
Urville is a commune with 153 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Champagne-Ardenne region in the department of Aube. The village belongs to the district of Bar-sur -Aube and the canton of Bar-sur -Aube.
Economy
Champagne house Drappier operates here in the eighth generation since 1808, the production of champagne. Even the Romans had begun on this basis with the production of wine. Parts of the basement have been built under Bernard of Clairvaux and his Cistercian monks. The most famous customer was probably the neighbor Charles de Gaulle. Even today, the quality of the champagne Drappier is famous. Winery tours are possible.
Since 2007, the Champagne house Drappier produced a Cuvée " Quattuor " of 25% each of Petit Meslier, Arbane, Pinot Blanc vrai ( Pinot Blanc ) and Chardonnay. The ancient white grape varieties that are permitted in addition to the Chardonnay for the production of champagne ( it lacks only the Pinot gris vrai, Pinot Gris ), are only very rarely used.
