US Highland

Highland is an originally Swedish micro manufacturer of off-road motorcycles, which was founded in 1997. The Swedish motor manufacturer Folan ( Freddy Olsson and Lars Nilsson ) developed a 60-degree V-2 engine for Highland. Financial difficulties delayed the start of production, so that the first model, a 950 V-2 came on the German market until 2003. 2006, however, was with this engine another model ( Supermoto) offered the announced 450 not; then the manufacturer disappeared from the German market.

2010 was the re-establishment under the name of U.S. Highland in Tulsa ( Oklahoma). U.S. Highland took over the license and the production of engines from China for the production of custom bikes. By a plane crash, the company founder Malmberg and two other senior officers of the manufacturer came in the same year died. 2013 was a revised range of engines of U.S. Highland of three one-and two -cylinder engines, which are available in addition to motorcycles in quad, power generators and lawn mowers for installation.
