US Ouakam

Union Sportive de Ouakam is a Senegalese football club based in Dakar.

History

U.S. Ouakam was founded in 1951 by El Hadji Moussa Diagne and has established itself over many years in the top division of the Senegalese football. Today, U.S. Ouakam is one of the most prestigious football teams in Senegal despite initially limited financial and economic opportunities.

His rise to one of the best clubs in Senegal has been hampered by many problems, for example, you had to the season 1962/63 expose and then start in the second division again. Here U.S. Ouakam played an outstanding season, the team won all mandatory games, the immediate revival was thus secured an early stage. The crowning glory for their outstanding season was winning the Cup in 1964.

In the years 1989 and 2006, the club could also win the Cup, in 2011 they were first champion. The club allowed many players such as Pape Diakhaté, Guirane N'Daw or Baye Oumar Niasse to move to Europe, especially to France.
