U.S. Silver Corporation is a mining company based in Wallace in the U.S. state of Idaho. The corporation specializes in the mining of silver.

History

The U.S. Silver Corporation, established in 2006 by buying the Galena and Coeur Mines and the Caladay project including land and equipment of Coeur d' Alene Mines for 15 million U.S. dollars. As the silver price multiplied since then, the old mines could be operated quickly economically successful.

Mines

The mines of U.S. Silver Corporation are in the " Silver Valley ", Idaho, where since the 19th century ores are encouraged. The area is named after the tribe Coeur d' Alene Native North American or the same city as " Coeur- d'Alene - area".

Galena Mine

The history of the Galena Mine goes back to the 1880s, have been found as the first lead-silver veins. After a succession of owners, the mine was taken over in 1947 by ASARCO. In 1953, the company accidentally discovered a much richer copper - silver vein, with which began the recent history of the Galena Mine. In 1995, ASARCO and Coeur d' Alene Mines, a joint venture to operate the mine. Following the bankruptcy of ASARCO 1999 Coeur d'Alene Mines took over the shares.

As a result of its acquisition by U.S. Silver the operating Galena Mine was resumed after a two-year break. In March 2011, worked at the Galena Mine 235 employees. The promotion was about 900 tons per day.

Coeur Mine

In the neighboring Coeur Mine mining was carried out from 1969 to 1998. From 2007 to 2009, the mine, which has an underground connection to the Galena Mine, was used to transport ore from the Galena mine for ore mill the Coeur Mine. U.S. Silver plans to retake the ore mining in the Coeur Mine in late 2011.
