Uschi Keszler

Uschi Keszler ( born August 13, 1947 in Mannheim) is a former German figure skater and internationally successful choreographer and trainer.

Career

She took part in the 1964 Olympic Winter Games in 1965 and German champion in figure skating ladies.

The Frankenthal (Pfalz ) grown Keszler had at the age of 17 years to give up their amateur career because she was eight months in the hospital for tuberculosis. She tried to keep going after disease with figure skating, but could not find a doctor who signed the form that their health is not harmed by competitive sport. Was rumored about a possible continuation of the career in pair skating, consisted especially in the German Skating Union aspirations, Uschi Keszler, together with Ralph Borghard build the successor pair of Marika Kilius and Hans -Jürgen Baumler. Supported and encouraged by her husband, she worked in the next 10 years -time as a figure skating coach. In addition, she studied for 12 years modern dance and acting at the Rugers University.

In 1981, she was the first time doing at the World Championships as a coach. In the following months, she choreographed the programs by Elaine Zayak. Even in 1981 began working with Doug Leigh, the coach of Brian Orser. From 1982 to 1987 she created the choreography for Claudia Leistner. Keszler stayed for several times with Brian Orser in LZE in Mannheim.

From 1988 to 1994, Keszler was the choreographer Isabelle Brasseur and Lloyd Eisler and from 1995 to 1996 by Shae -Lynn Bourne and Victor Kraatz. In addition, since 1992 she worked on the choreography of Elvis Stojko also a student of Doug Leigh. Elvis Stojko broke up in 1999 by his trainer and then has worked only with Keszler.

More students Keszlers were and are Tanja Szewczenko, Surya Bonaly, Rudy Galindo, Mandy Woetzel & Ingo Steuer, Oksana Grishchuk Yevgeny Platov & Debbie Koegel & Oleg Fediukov and Viktor Pfeifer.

Her husband built with partners an ice rink "Ice Works" in Aston, Pennsylvania, USA. Keszler is there Director for the figure skating program. Here she worked on with Elvis Stojko.

In 1998, she was Grandma.
