USENIX

USENIX, The Advanced Computing Systems Association, is an association of operating system developers, researchers and users in Berkeley. This was founded in 1975 and promoted at the beginning especially the development of Unix. USENIX is best known as an organizer of conferences. From 1990 to 1992, and from 2002 to 2003 Marshall Kirk McKusick was president of this association of interest. Since June 1, 2006 Mike Jones is chairman.
