Nice Little Penguins is a Danish music trio, the most likely to be through their hit song " Flying " became known (from the eponymous album ), or by a cover of the hit " Daydream Believer " by the Monkees.

Foundation and History

The actual founding of the band took place in 1983, when Bo Feierskov and the brothers Michael and Carsten Kolster banded together to play their music. They started as a background group for the Danish singer Ania Sand and could be heard on her single "You Tænker " (EMI).

After that Bo and Michael turned a career as a duo, while Carsten worked as a professional drummer until they but in 1987 joined forces again, and their shared repertoire enriched as a trio to a genre mix of jazz, beat, Nordic folk songs and several original compositions and thus their own style had found.

The three built more and more of their own ideas in their pieces, which met with great approval in the audience, and as soon it was clear that the group had dissociated itself from others of its class. From about the beginning of 1992, the three men worked as a professional musician and finally called themselves Nice Little Penguins. The name had to distinguish itself rooted in the intentions of the founders with the apparently innocuous sounding term of the perceived as aggressive attitude of the formative rock milieu of the time. Her mental models included the artists including the Beatles, The Police and Crowded House.
