Ushimado (Okayama)

Ushimado (Japanese牛 窓) is a district of the Japanese city of Setouchi in Okayama Prefecture. Until the merger in 2004 with the communities Oku and Osafune Ushimado was 27.50 km ² large municipality with 7,545 inhabitants of the last resolved to restructure the district Oku.

Geography

Ushimado is located east of Okayama on the Inland Sea. The place are the islands Maeshima (前 岛) Aoshima (青岛) Kishima (黄岛) Kuroshima (黒 岛) upstream, to the west, the island belonging to Okayama City Inushima (犬 岛). Economy

Ushimado is a recreation area with a marina and numerous cottages. The sea is a popular sailing and Kayakgebiet. Ushimado is known for its olive trees, also oyster and mushroom cultivation are operated.
