USK Praha

Univerzitní Sportovní Club Praha ( Prague German University Sports Club; short USK Prague ) is a Czech basketball club from Prague. He is part of the known mainly by football clubs SK Slavia Prague.

History

The club was founded in 1953 as Slavia Prague. In the former Czechoslovakia Slavia was eleven times Basketball Champion. To this period belong also great European success as winning the European Cup Winners' Cup, the 1969 Slavia won. Two years ago it failed yet in the final of this cup.

1966 was the club even in the final of the main European Cup in basketball, the European Champion Clubs' Cup. This final they lost 72:77 against Olimpia Milano.

USK Prague, as the club is, since 1995, is a founding member of the newly established Národní basketbalová league ( National Basketball League), the highest league in the Czech Republic, from which we have never been relegated.

In the years 2000 and 2001 USK won his first two own title.

Hall

The club plays its home games from the comprehensive 1300 places Hala Folimanka.
