Úsobí

Úsobí ( German Pollerskirchen ) is a market town in the Czech Republic. It is located eleven kilometers east of Humpolec and belongs to Okres Havlíčkův Brod.

Geography

Úsobí located in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands in the valley of the brook Úsobský creek. To the east rises the Máselný Kopec ( 634 m) and in the east the Olšina (612 m). Southeast of the forest area is Farský les ( Pfarrholz ).

Neighboring towns are Kukačka and Chválkov in the north, Úhořilka in the northeast, Studénka in the east, Chyska and Petrovice the southeast, Malini, Kosovy and Skalka in the south, Skorkov the southwest, Slavníč and KAMENICE in the west, and U Nádrazí and Herálec in the northwest.

History

The site was probably founded the 14th century during the colonization activities of the monastery Seelau of 13 at the transition. The first mention of Ausobium place in the year 1307. Later, the German name Pollerskirchen was common. The orphaned during the Hussite Wars Seelauer monastic estates handed King Sigismund in 1436, with the consent of the abbot fled to Jihlava for the protection and management of Nicholas Trček lipas. After the abolition of patrimonial Ousobí / Pollerskirchen formed in 1850 with the district Kosovy a market town in the district Deutschbrod. The volunteer fire department, founded in 1872 was one of the first in the Highlands. Attractions
