USS Commencement Bay (CVE-105)

The USS Commencement Bay, an American escort carrier and type of ship the Commencement Bay class was provided with the identification number CVE -105 was the first ship of a new class on November 27, 1944 in service.

The carrier had not recorded any combat mission and was used as a training ship of the U.S. Navy, for example, for takeoffs and landings. A total of 545 officers and 5,053 crew members were trained on her.

After the war she was assigned to the Reserve on 30 November 1946 and remained there until her decommissioning on 7 May 1959.
