USS Connecticut (BB-18)

The USS Connecticut (BB -18 ) was a battleship of the United States Navy and lead ship of the Connecticut class, named after the fifth U.S. state.

The keel was laid on 10 March 1903 in Brooklyn (New Jersey) on the grounds of the New York Navy Yard. The launch took place on 29 December, 1904, to the putting on 29 September 1906.

History

In a first reconstruction in 1910/11, the ship was typical for U.S. battleships lattice mast. 1917/18, the 7- inch (178 -mm) quick- firing guns and part of the 3-inch (76.2 -mm) guns were removed. On a war effort, the ship was never involved. USS Connecticut (BB -18) in 1924 was removed from the fleet list and then scrapped.
