USV Eschen-Mauren

The USV Eschen -Mauren is the Football Association of the Liechtenstein communities ash and Moors. The club was founded in December 1963 and won five times the Liechtenstein Cup contest.

History

Even before the UPS there were two football clubs in the two communities. The Moors FC existed from 1954 to 1959, the FC Ash was founded in 1960. In 1965, two years after the founding of the association as USV Eschen, the club adopted its final name: USV Eschen -Mauren. As one of only seven Liechtenstein Football Club, the club participates as well as all the other teams in the Swiss football operation. Already in 1967 and 1969 was the association with the rise of the 4th Division ( then six top division, now eight highest) celebrate two small successes in the third league.

1975, the Club moved from Presta place in the Sportpark Eschen-Mauren order. In the first season at the new sports complex, the club celebrated with the rise in the 2nd league and the first Cup victory with a 3-1 victory over FC Balzers his greatest successes to date. In the two following years, the club was able to win the Cup victory. 1977 FC Vaduz was defeated 4-2 on penalties, a year later they defeated the FC Ruggell 3-1. By 4 Cup success in 1987, one stood another four times in the final, but lost forever. After the fourth Cup win with a 1-0 victory over record cup winners Vaduz, reached the final of one another twelve times. This one, however, lost all against Vaduz. Only when you won 13 start 2012 with a 6:4 in a penalty shoot-out against the record cup winners the fifth title. Due to this title win, the club was able to participate in the first qualifying round of the Europa League. The two games against the Icelandic club FH Hafnarfjörður but were lost with 1:2 and 0:1 both.

In the championship could be in 1999, after one had failed four times in the rise of games and 23 consecutive years played in the second league, reached the League 1 ( third-highest division). A year later, however, one had to accept relegation and ended up taking second in the league interregional, a newly created division, which is above the second league. 2008 managed to return in the first league.

A total of 16 teams will take part in the USV Eschen -Mauren in the different age groups. In addition, the association operates six football schools in the surrounding communities.
