Utah Starzz

The Utah Starzz were an American basketball franchise of the Women's National Basketball Association from Salt Lake City, Utah. It was founded in 1996 and took to the start of the 1997 season on the game mode. The team colors were green, purple, white, black, copper and light blue. After the 2002 season, the WNBA gave its property rights in all WNBA franchises, while the league offered the rights to the franchises first all local NBA teams to. After the owner of the Utah Jazz were not ready to take on the Utah Starzz, the franchise on 5 December 2002 was bought by the Spurs Sports & Entertainment. Shortly after the acquisition, the team was relocated to San Antonio, Texas, where the name was changed from Starzz in Silver Stars.

The Starzz wore their home games at the Delta Center. During the period of its existence, the team qualified for the playoffs twice. The gain of an WNBA Championship failed to materialize.
