The Utah Valley University ( UVU also called ) is a state university in Orem in the U.S. state of Utah. More than 23,000 students are enrolled here. The university is one in terms of student numbers, the fastest growing universities in the United States and is the third largest university in Utah.

History

The college was founded in 1941 as Central Utah Vocational School in Provo, renamed in 1963 in Utah Trade Technical Institute and 1967 in Utah Technical College at Provo. 1977 moved the college to its present location in Orem. Before it received its current name and university status in 2008, it was named in 1987 as Utah Valley Community College, and from 1993 as Utah Valley State College.

Sports

The sports teams are the UVU Wolverines. The university is a member of the Great West Conference.

The team of the Utah Flash Likewise uses the UCCU Center on the campus of the University at home games.
