Ute Berg

Ute Mountain (nee Fischer, born July 24, 1953 in Essen) is a German politician (SPD).

Life and career

After graduation in 1971 at the Gymnasium in Peter Hagen Ute Mountain completed a teaching degree in Göttingen with the subjects of English and German, which she finished in 1974 with the state exam. She then worked as a teacher, most recently at the comprehensive school Paderborn -Elsen, works. Ute Mountain is married and has two children.

1983 Ute Mountain member of the SPD. It belonged since 1990 to the board of the SPD sub-district of Paderborn and since 1992 the SPD district executive in Paderborn. Member of Parliament

From 1994 to 2002 Ute Mountain was a member of the City Council of Paderborn.

From 2002 to 2009 she was a member of the German Bundestag. Ute Mountain was since February 2009, the Working Group spokeswoman Economics and Technology of the SPD parliamentary group. Previously, she was since November 2005 Deputy Speaker of the AG.

Ute Mountain was always drawn over the national list North Rhine-Westphalia in the Bundestag.

In the 2009 federal election she defeated in constituency 138 Paderborn with 25.31 % of the vote clearly against her CDU opposition candidates Carsten Linnemann. Despite a promising list place she could no longer move into the Bundestag in this election.
