Ute Pass

The Ute Pass is at 2,800 m above sea level, situated mountain pass in the Front Range, a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains.

The pass is named after the Indian tribe of the Ute, who used the pass as a transition in the east of the mountains nearby prairies. 1887 reached the construction of the Colorado Midland Railroad to pass; in the immediate vicinity of the pass grew the City Divide in the following years. The railway line was closed down in 1918. Since 1926, the road is being recognized over the pass as part of U.S. Highway 24 and is now developed as a four-lane highway.
