Ute Starke

Ute Strong, married Kahlenberg ( born January 14, 1939 in Eisleben ) is a former German gymnast. For the GDR starting, it was in the 1960s, the world leaders, especially in the horse jump. In this discipline, it was founded in 1961 in Leipzig European Champion, for which she was elected in the same year for the GDR female athlete of the year.

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, she won the bronze medal with the East German team. She participated in three Olympic Games - 1960, 1964 and 1968 in individual competitions in gymnastics in part, without medal success. Further success in horse jump: Vice European Champion 1965, World Cup Fourth 1966.

After the end of their sports career, she was a trainer at SC Leipzig, after the end of the GDR practice manager at TuG Leipzig.

Strong Ute launched for the SC locomotive Leipzig / Leipzig SC and coached at Ellen Berger and Sylvia Hlavacek.
