Utecht

Utecht is a municipality in the western part of the North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Rehna based in the same city.

Geography

The community Utecht is between Lübeck and Ratzeburg, on the northeastern shore of the Great Ratzeburger. The lake is also the border to Schleswig -Holstein. The area rises from Lake Ratzeburg (4 m above sea level. NN ) further east to 82 m above sea level. NN on.

History

Born from a Slavic Rundling and was first mentioned in 1230 in Ratzeburg tithe registers Utecht belonged to St. John's Abbey in Lübeck, 1375-1747 for Chapter of Ratzeburg Cathedral and then again an exclave of Lübeck. A ferry across the Wakenitzrestaurant then joined Utecht with the southern suburbs of Luebeck. Through the Greater Hamburg Act Utecht in 1937 to Mecklenburg. In the communist era, the church was directly on the inner German border, the inhabitants of the districts Neuhof and Campow had to leave their homes - Neuhof was sacrificed and dragged the border security systems. Transport links

In 1995 the road was restored by Roth Husen ( district of Schleswig-Holstein town of Gross Sarau ) with a bridge over the Wakenitzrestaurant. The bridge was replaced by a new building ( arch bridge ) 2009. As northernmost municipality in Schaalsee and bordering the Great Ratzeburger and near the federal highway 20 ( 4 km to the north ) Utecht looks after periods " prescribed rest" today an increasing tourist development of the east side of the lake opposite.
