Uthai Thani ( Thai: อุทัยธานี ) is a city ( เทศบาล เมือง อุทัยธานี ) in the Thai province of Uthai Thani. It is the capital of the district of Amphoe Mueang Uthai Thani and Uthai Thani province.

The city of Uthai Thani has 15,838 inhabitants ( 2012).

Geography

Uthai Thani is located about 230 kilometers north of the capital Bangkok on Maenam Sakaekrang in the alluvium of the Chao Phraya River. The city is located just off the beaten path.

Economic importance and

Agricultural products such as rice and fruit, bring the majority of the revenue. In addition, there is a growing bamboo processing industry.
